TOPIC: THE FRUITS OF FAITH (Part 4)

TEXT: “…Abraham obeyed my voice and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes and my laws.” – Genesis 26:5, NKJV.

 

When we discuss the fruits of faith, Abraham serves as an inspiring example. We learn from the scriptures that Abraham obeyed everything God told him; he never thought it was wise to argue with God’s instructions or delay obedience.

Aside from Jesus’ willingness to offer himself for humanity, the next best example of the fruit of faith in the Bible is Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his son in response to God’s command.

With the instruction to sacrifice his son, God examined him to see if his heart was ready to carry something bigger. Abraham’s testimony of faith and obedience opened a great door of blessing for him. There will never be any loss in obeying God. (Genesis 22:12, Genesis 22:16-18).

Anything we have to sacrifice or give up because of our love for God is never truly a loss. God does not cause pain but instead gives joy. I believe this was one of Abraham’s beliefs that caused him to never struggle with obedience. He was always prompt in obeying.

Abraham understood that whatever God asks us to give or do will never result in our loss or shame. 

Let us be inspired by Abraham’s testimony; he was a man whose faith in God produced amazing results.

Take some time to thank God for anything you have lost as a result of your surrender to Him.

WISDOM PUSH:

Anything we have to sacrifice or let go because of our love for God is never really a loss.
