TOPIC: THE FRUITS OF FAITH (Part 5)

TEXT: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” – Proverbs 3:5, NKJV.

In Proverbs 3:5, God’s word tells us to trust God with all our hearts and not rely on our own understanding but to acknowledge Him in all our ways, and He will guide us.

As we continue discovering insights into the fruits of our faith in God, here is one lesson that should strengthen our trust in God: he knows what is best for us far better than we do.

There is something remarkable about Abraham’s story. According to Genesis 21:12, God told Abraham that the descendants of the promise would come through his son, Isaac.  However, the same God instructs him to offer Isaac as a sacrifice.

What God had previously said should have been grounds for hesitation or disobedience. Still, Abraham did not argue with God or attempt to remind God of his earlier promise. He demonstrated complete trust in God’s instructions and guidance. 

Friends, God wants us to trust him even when we don’t know all the details.

Yes, Abraham may not have understood the hidden details of God’s instruction, but he still obeyed because he trusted the Lord. 

Faith obeys God even when we don’t understand the details.

The life and example of Abraham teaches us that faith and obedience must go together.

I am not sure what God has been saying to you or what he will say to you today/this week, but he wants me to remind you that faith and obedience must go together. This is where the blessings and glory reside. This is the way we earn God’s trust.

Talk to God to open your eyes to the benefits of total submission to Him.

WISDOM PUSH:

God wants you to trust him even when you don’t know all the details.
