Topic: THE HAND OF HELP (Part 4)

Text: “Be kind and loving to each other. Forgive each other just as God forgave you in Christ.” – Ephesians 4:32, ICB.

As we go about our daily lives, we are exposed to various aspects of human nature, such as selfishness, dishonesty, greediness, and so on.

Regardless of what we experience from others, we must continue to remind ourselves it is possible to be kind and selfless to others with the help of the Holy Spirit.

There are many things the Lord expects of us that we will continue to struggle with if we don’t yield to the help of the Holy Spirit.

Without submitting to the help of the Holy Spirit, we would face situations that will cause us to be hurt, discouraged, and even tired of caring for others.

Only when we reach the end of ourselves and begin to rely on the Holy Spirit will we be able to fully exhibit kindness. Godly kindness is a fruit of the Holy Spirit in the life of a regenerated believer.

We are unable to sustain kindness on our own. Jesus Christ says something remarkable in John 15:5 ICB, “If a person remains in me and I remain in him, then he produces much fruit. But without me, he can do nothing.” With the help of God’s spirit, we can overcome selfishness.

Here are some ways we demonstrate kindness to others: by praying sincerely for them, encouraging and exhorting others, being loving and gentle with our words, and many more.

The Lord wants us to keep being kind to others, and He will continue to help us to maintain this righteous attribute as long as we submit to the Holy Spirit.

Decide to reach out to an unbeliever and express acts of kindness to them.
