Topic: THE MIND OF LEADERSHIP (Part 1)

Text: “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will honour you.” – James 4:10, ICB.

Leadership is essential in families, teams, and organisations. We see examples of great and terrible leaders in the Bible and the consequences of their leadership of the nations/responsibilities they oversaw.

This is why, as a Christian in any leadership position, you must do everything in the fear of God, understanding that He is the leader above all leaders, and everyone reports to him.

Furthermore, when we act and live in the fear of God, we will always make wise decisions. The best life decisions are made under the influence of God’s wisdom.

The most basic definition of leadership is the ability to positively influence those around you and motivate them to achieve success in a specific direction, vision, objective, or aspiration. A leader is someone who influences the thoughts and actions of others to achieve a specific goal.

One common trait we see in scripture about bad leaders is that they exclude God in their activities to pursue their plans and desires, even if it means harming others and outright dishonoring God.

Dear friend, whatever position you find yourself in, you must never forget that Jesus Christ is the Lord of your heart, and He desires to have the greatest influence on everything you do.

God’s Love and wisdom must shine through you as you lead others, whether in a secular or religious setting. This is what differentiates and distinguishes you from others. You are a child of God and must always glorify Him in everything you do.

TODAY’S TASK:

Identify one good and one bad leader in the scriptures, and look for three things you can learn from each.
