Topic: THE MIND OF LEADERSHIP (Part 2)
Text: “…If one of you wants to become great, then he must serve the rest of you like a servant.” – Matthew 20:26
One of our many beautiful responsibilities as God’s children is to be agents of positive change and preserve righteous values.
In Matthew 5, Jesus taught a powerful message. He discussed the beautiful attitudes that every child of God must have. The sermon is titled “Be-attitudes.” Among the many beautiful things he said, he mentioned that we are the salt of the earth.
According to theologians, the Romans once used salt as a preservative. It is said that fishermen used salt to preserve their catch because the Sea of Galilee was said to be a 2-3 day journey. So salt was used to preserve the fish and keep it fresh.
Now Jesus says that we are the salt of the earth. We are reminded that many things will go wrong if salts do not function properly in a generation. Jesus was saying that, as Christians, we should live like salt.
Righteous values in the world should not deteriorate because we exist. Righteousness must be admired and celebrated because we are here.
Our world needs godly inspiration now more than ever. We need true leaders in our homes, politics, religious institutions, and everywhere else.
However, leadership is more than just a job title; it is a mindset. To think, speak, and act like a leader, you don’t need to hold an office or have any titles.
The Lord wants us to think and act like leaders, leaders he has placed in this generation to shine his light everywhere.
Dear friend, take yourself more seriously; be mindful of how you speak, respond to issues, care for others, and execute assignments. All of these are important characteristics of exceptional leaders. You are the salt of the earth. You are a leader in this generation.
