Topic: THE MIND OF LEADERSHIP(Part 10)

Text: “In the same way, you should be a light for other people. Live so that they will see the good things you do. Live so that they will praise your Father in heaven.” – Matthew 5:16, ICB.

There are numerous title holders in our world, whether in politics, religion, industry, or other fields. Unfortunately, many of these position holders have no idea what they’re doing. You will find someone jostling for power; once they have it, they will have no idea what to do.

When leaders don’t know what to do with their power, they abuse it. One example we learn from the leadership model of Jesus is that he never abused power. He knew exactly what to do with it. He healed, delivered, taught and added value to lives.

The essence of power is being in a position to improve the lives of others. When given power, the emphasis should never be on you but the assignment, vision, and those you serve.

Every leader is a servant who must exemplify the art of service so that others have no reason not to follow in their footsteps.

Jesus was a fantastic leader who never abused power. He understood the assignment, he stayed with the assignment, and he delivered on the assignment. This is an inspiration worth learning from.

If you were given the opportunity to lead your organisation or country for a week, what would your top three priorities be? Your response could reveal what you are truly passionate about.

WISDOM PUSH

When a leader commits to intentional and continuous learning, there will be a positive transformation in their leadership approach. Leaders who are not committed to learning will hinder growth in those they lead.

Lord Jesus, help me not to live a life that contradicts your truth that I know.
