Topic: THE MIND OF LEADERSHIP(Part 7)

Text: “Listen well to wise counsel and be willing to learn from correction so that by the end of your life you will be known for your wisdom.” – Proverbs 19:20, TPT.

 

One of the most amazing things about the Bible is that it is unlike any other resource; it provides wisdom and counsel on virtually every aspect of one’s life. The scriptures teach us wisdom for marriage success, financial intelligence, and even leadership development.

As we study the scriptures, we can learn from the examples Jesus sets. The life of Jesus contains invaluable lessons and inspirations.

One of the amazing leadership qualities of Jesus was his ability to listen. This virtue contributed to his outstanding and error-free existence. He frequently mentioned this, emphasising how he listened for direction, instruction, and counsel.

In John 5:19, he said, “The son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the father doing.”

Every leader must develop the ability to listen, both to the leader above them and to those they lead or serve.

As Christians, we understand that no matter how high we climb, we have a leader above us: the Lord God Almighty.

As a result, we must exercise caution when leading or serving and never assume that we have complete control over everything. Listening to the leader above and those we serve/lead allows us to be and do so much. This is an example drawn from Jesus’ leadership style. Jesus was a listening leader.
