Today’s Word: The Old and the New (Part 2)

Bible Reference: 1 Kings 13:1-30).

As believers, you must avoid becoming gullible and naive. Having a good heart towards others is not enough; you also need discernment.

Spiritual discernment is basically our alertness and response to the leadership and influence of the Holy Spirit. For many people, their unguided heart of love has become what the enemy used against them.

According to our Bible reference, the young prophet who resisted the king’s intimidation and bribery ultimately succumbed to the manipulation of the old prophet because he let down his guard. The older prophet used words and an approach that made him comfortable with compromise.

Dear friend, be careful what you easily agree with. If it does not seek to honour God or contradicts His word, disengage quickly.

Today’s Prophetic Declaration:

In the name of Jesus, I declare that I am alive to God’s counsel in all things.
