Today’s Word: The Old and the New (Part 4)

Bible Reference: 1 Kings 13:1-30.

From our Bible reference, we learn that the young prophet disobeyed God because of the pressure from the old prophet, and he faced the consequences of rejecting God’s instruction. He was killed by a lion. No matter how much we want to blame the old prophet, it was the young prophet who opened the door to his destruction through indiscipline.

We have many Christians today who are ignoring the development of sound character. Many are chasing and manifesting the gifts of the Spirit, but lack the fruit of the Spirit. Many are seeking human validation while dishonouring God in every way.

Today, God calls us to the matters of discipline. Allow God’s word to shape your life. Allow God’s wisdom to direct the course of your life. Don’t become too big for correction, counsel and guidance.

When you become too wise to submit to instruction and counsel, you will become too small for the enemy to destroy.

Today’s Prophetic Declaration:

In the name of Jesus, I declare that by the help of the Holy Spirit, I refuse to open doors that will cut short my days.
