Today’s Word: The Old and the New (Part 6)
Bible Reference: 1 Kings 13:1-30.
One of the tragedies in this generation is seeing how the young dishonour the old. We find younger people today jumping on anything and saying all sorts of things to dishonour the older generation.
Those who have little or no respect for those older than them may not rise to fatherhood. It doesn’t matter how much you may disagree with the posture or views of the older generation; let not honour depart from you. Maintain a heart of honour always. Respond with honour.
Honour doesn’t mean I have to agree with you and everything you represent; honour means I will not express my views in ways that demean, undermine, or disrespect you.
The younger generation must always show honour to those who came before them, even if you feel they no longer represent honor. This principle is not a suggestion but a rule that is necessary if we must carry voices that will transform, empower, and honour Jesus in our generation and beyond.
Today’s Prophetic Declaration:
In the name of Jesus, I declare that my words are seasoned with grace and wisdom.
