Today’s Word: The Old and the New (Part 7)

Bible Reference: 1 Kings 13:1-30.

According to our Bible reference, God warned a young prophet not to eat or drink anything until he returned to his home, but he was deceived by an old prophet to do otherwise.

This young prophet was a man on fire for God, obedient to God, refusing to fear the threat of the king, and full of courage and integrity. But he allowed the old prophet, who was everything opposite of him, to mislead him to disobey God. The young prophet assumed that the old prophet had more wisdom and experience than he did.

Dear friend, while age brings maturity in a couple of areas, age does not equal spiritual maturity, and that a person is full of experience does not mean they are intimate with God. Be careful that you are not making critical life decisions because you are relying only on the age or experience of anyone. Discern God’s leading.
