TOPIC: THE PROFIT OF OBEDIENCE (Part 4)

Obeying God is wisdom; it enhances your life and keeps you secure. Unfortunately, too many have lost out on great things due to disobedience or delayed obedience. Obeying God is great, but prompt obedience must be the focus.

Many times, what stops us from obeying God is because of what we have become used to. Comfort makes many people afraid to obey. Some times, a key reason for disobedience is that we do not know what is on the other side of our obedience.

But just like Abraham, we must learn to trust the character of the one who gave the instruction. God knows the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:10). In Daniel 2:22, scripture reminds us that he knows what is in the darkness and light dwells in him.

So, while the instruction may look illogical and uncommon, focus on the character of the one who gave the instruction. He loves you too much to ask you to do what will not benefit you. Even when it does not make sense according to your reasoning, obey God anyway, and you will be better.
