TOPIC: THE PROFIT OF OBEDIENCE (Part 6)
Text: “But he who looks carefully into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and faithfully abides by it, not having become a [careless] listener who forgets but an active doer [who obeys], he will be blessed and favoured by God in what he does [in his life of obedience]. – James 1:25

Trust is the foundation for obeying God. You will become discouraged if your obedience to God is not based on trust.

In John 14:15, Jesus Christ stated, “If you love me, you will obey my commands.” In other words, we must obey God because we love him, and we love him because we know him, and then we trust him because we know him.

It is not always the case that obeying God results in immediate gains and rewards; sometimes, patience and faith are required. It is your faith in God that keeps you on track.

Maybe you are in a phase right now where you have held on to God’s word, rejected the path of compromise, and chosen to stick to what God says, and it may appear that there’s no reward for obeying God, but I want you to hang in there because God will surely show up for you. Scripture assures us that no one who trusts in God will be ashamed. (Psalms 25:3).

A word of encouragement and strength to you: God is too faithful to fail. He will carry out what He has promised and reward your decision to trust and obey Him. Keep your faith and hope alive.

WISDOM PUSH

We cannot expect God’s blessing without obeying his instructions.

Lord Jesus, help me to always trust in the path you have chosen for me.
