Today’s word: The Unprofitable Servant (Part 3)

Today’s Bible Reference: John 15: 4 (MSG) – “Live in me. Make your home in me just as I do in you. In the same way that a branch can’t bear grapes by itself but only by being joined to the vine, you can’t bear fruit unless you are joined with me.” 

Our fruitfulness or profit as believers must come from our intimacy with Christ, not just a decision or desire to be a blessing to God’s kingdom.

Many people do what they think will profit God’s kingdom; they pray, go to church, and even serve in service units in their churches but do not have an active or personal relationship with the Lord. 

All our religious activities will become right when done from a place of worship; we must honour God by seeking to hear and obey his voice above our desires or the opinion of anyone. 

Dear friend, we cannot bear fruit ‘outside’ the vine. This means that we must live every day growing more intimate in our relationship with the Lord Jesus, feeding on his word, praying to hear instructions and faithfully following them.   

Are you a profitable servant? Whatever your answer is, I urge you that living, breathing and walking daily with Jesus, should be your number one desire.

In the name of Jesus, today I declare that my understanding of the Lord is better today and it keeps getting better every day.
