Text: THE WALL AROUND US (Part 12)

Text: “The Lord is my shepherd [to feed, to guide and to shield me], I shall not want.” – Psalms 23:4, AMP.

God calls us to live differently. Our power as Christians lies in our yielding and obedience to God. Whoever cannot submit to God is weak indeed.

Many people believe they can use their intelligence to solve any problem, and they also persuade others to ignore God’s ways. When we accept the flawed perspectives of those who have no regard for God, we open the door to compromise and expose ourselves to things we should avoid.

Disobedience means going against what God says and doing things your own way. A lot goes wrong in our lives when we choose to go against God’s way. 

Dear friend, there are consequences for disobeying and disregarding God. There will always be consequences that come to the disobedient. One of them is that He will discipline us. The goal of his discipline is to help us to trust him.

Recall the messenger of God called Jonah, who refused to carry God’s message. The prophet faced the consequences of not proclaiming God’s word. He experienced God’s hand of discipline, and others suffered because of his disobedience.

Jonah’s experience also reinforces a key lesson: our disobedience affects others.

Today, the Lord calls us to evaluate our hearts and examine whether we are indeed walking in absolute obedience.

Everything good God desires for us can only be accomplished as we maintain steadfastness in obedience.

Take some time to meditate on Psalms 141:8-10.

Our disobedience doesn’t just affect us. There are consequences for everyone around us.

In the name of Jesus, today, I receive grace for unconditional obedience to all God requires of me.
