Topic: THE WAY OF THE BELIEVER (Part 11)

Text: “Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth.” – Matthew 5:5, NKJV.

As believers, a key strength of our lives is hearing from God. The ability to discern God’s counsel and direction on issues will save us from pain, wasting time and experiencing reproach. God’s counsel saves.

However, hearing from God concerning different aspects of our lives requires meekness. Meekness is demonstrated by trust in God’s voice, instruction, and direction. The good part is that the Holy Spirit works in us to produce this righteous virtue.

A key determination of the Holy Spirit in our lives is to achieve meekness in us, where a person can truly be taught and led by God because of their humility and submission to the Lord.

For a meek person, they hear the word and do. They allow the Holy Spirit to lead, guide and teach them without excuses or rebellion. They are intentional about living in such a way that the Word and the Lord guide them.

Until the Holy Spirit can achieve meekness in you, there are certain instructions and directions you may either not receive or obey from the Lord. God deals with us according to the level of submission. There are instructions the Lord will give you at your present level of growth; your response to that instruction will release you to a new level of growth.

Dear friends, we must be intentional about yielding to the Holy Spirit daily so we can come to a point where we can trust the Lord completely. This is what births the virtue of meekness.

Take some time to reflect on the fruits of the spirit as listed in Galatians 5:22-23.
