Topic: THE WAY OF THE BELIEVER (Part 14)

Text: “The entrance of your word gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.” – Psalms 119:130, NKJV.

I believe the wisest people should be those who give attention to the word of God. This is because the word of God guides us in wisdom, which is the kind of wisdom the world does not have. From God’s word, we are empowered with God’s perspective to live a winning life.

According to God’s word in Psalms 119:130 (ICB), “Learning your words gives wisdom and understanding for the foolish.” This means we should keep growing in wisdom as we receive God’s word. This must be a conscious desire and expectation, such that God’s wisdom progressively transforms your way of seeing things.

The scripture is not just some random book; it is the wisdom of God in print, and through it, the Lord instructs and builds us up. We hear God’s voice as we give attention to God’s word. Through his word, he ministers strength, hope, direction and encouragement.

For the believer, the Bible was inspired by God to guide us on how to live. Don’t only open the Bible when you come to church or when you are to preach; make it a habit to give attention to God’s word every day – it will keep building you up.
