Topic: THE WAY OF THE BELIEVER (Part 7)

Text: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” – 2 Corinthians 5:17, NKJV.

Being called a Christian is beyond going to church, having Christian parents, you are a good person or because you believe there is God. All of these do not qualify you as a Christian.

According to God’s word in Acts 11:26, we understand that followers of Jesus were first called Christians in Antioch. This was because those who saw them could testify that their speech and behaviour were like Christ.

So, a Christian is one whose heart and behaviour reflect the Lord Jesus Christ. Through how they live, everything demonstrates faith in the Lord Jesus. When a person becomes a Christian, they may look the same on the outside, but something has forever changed on the inside.

As we became Christians, the direction of our lives changed for good. Instead of following our desires and ambitions, we embrace the will and direction of the Lord, expressing our faith in him. 

Because we are now in Christ, we begin to experience new desires. There is love and desire to serve God, and we are now children of God because the wall of separation between us and God is broken down forever.

Indeed, we are privileged and forever blessed to be called the beloved of God. He loves us and will continue to reveal His glory through our lives.
