Topic: THINGS OF GREATER VALUE (Part 4)

Text: “So give Your servant an understanding mind and a hearing heart [with which] to judge Your people, so that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge and rule this great people of Yours?”— 1 Kings‬ 3‬:9,‬ AMP‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬.

A key piece of wisdom that must guide us every day is that the most important must never be left to the mercy of less important things. Our ability to prioritize where we focus and exert our energies is a valuable life skill.

When we set our priorities right, we will discover that many of the things we focus on are distractions, and we will laugh at some of the things we appear to be so passionate about. The truth is many people are motivated by greed and lust rather than what they need, so they engage in unnecessary activities.

Setting priorities is the key to living a life of order and balance. Some things are nice to have but not necessary. There are some things that are necessary but not urgent. There are some things that are urgent but not important. The fact that something is urgent does not imply that it is important. Knowing where to put our priorities will help us live better lives.

Nobody’s life is ever perfectly balanced. Every day, people just make choices about what’s most important to them.
