Topic: THINGS OF GREATER VALUE (Part 5)

Text: “So above all, constantly seek God’s kingdom and his righteousness, then all these less important things will be given to you abundantly.” – Matthew 6:33, TPT.

Certain activities will naturally produce specific outcomes. We must be careful not to become so focused on the “fruits” that we neglect the things that can lead to those “fruits” and many more. As Christians, we must be careful not to prioritize what satisfies and fulfils the flesh over what will empower our Spirit. If you ignore your spiritual needs, you will feel incomplete and unsatisfied regardless of your material possessions.

In Luke 10, we read about Jesus visiting the home of his beloved friends, Mary and Martha. While Martha was running around the house trying to sort things out and serve Jesus, Mary sat at his feet and listened to him teach.

Martha was angry that Mary had left her all alone to do the work, so she went to the Lord and said, “Master, don’t you care that my sister has left me all alone to do all the work?” Tell her to help me.” “Martha, you are getting too worried and upset about too many things,” Jesus replied. Only one thing matters and Mary has made a good decision, which will never be taken away from her.

When you start identifying the things that truly matter, you will come to a new level of growth, peace, and productivity. Your life may remain complicated until you establish your priorities. Life should not set your priorities for you; you must be deliberate about it.

Determine what is most important and prioritize them. Things that strengthen our spirits and help us maintain a healthy balance with the Lord should be at the top of our list as Christians.
