TOPIC: TRUST IN HIS FAITHFULNESS (Part 10)
TEXT: “God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?” – Numbers 23:19, NLT
Our Father is not only revealed to us in the Bible with the title ‘God’ but through many other beautiful expressions.
As we read the Bible, we notice that people refer to God by different names at different points. Each of these names represents a different aspect of his multifaceted personality. Some of these names were used to describe what God had done, while others were used to describe who God is.
Abraham referred to him as Jehovah Jireh, meaning the Lord who provides (Genesis 22:14). This expression arose after God provided a sheep for the sacrifice he requested. Our God is also called the healer (Jehovah Rapha, Exodus 15:26) and many other names that reveal his character and testimonies.
The names people have called him, as recorded in the scriptures, are reflections of people’s testimonies of his ability, character, and integrity.
We must find strength in the fact that our God is faithful to his name. He still reveals himself in all these beautiful expressions as the provider, healer, peace, way-maker, defender, and so much more. Our God is faithful to his name.
Most of the beautiful things about our God were shown to people in the Old Testament. However, the meanings of these names show us God’s love, power, and grace in a way that is just as important today as it was then. God’s Word in Hebrews 13:8 says, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever”.
When life gets tough, it’s important to remember that God is with us and forever faithful to his commitment and will make things alright. We can always count on him.
WISDOM PUSH
God remains faithful even when you have no faith.
