TOPIC: TRUST IN HIS FAITHFULNESS (Part 8)
TEXT: “And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.” – Romans 4:19-21
A critical spiritual attack on the lives of many Christians is the attack of forgetfulness, which births and sustains the attitude of ingratitude.
As we study the scriptures, we recall that the challenge of forgetfulness was the major obstacle that hindered the children of Israel from accessing the promised land.
Many of us are still like the old children of Israel; once a new challenge comes, we forget everything God has done for us. Some are quick to complain and murmur when difficult seasons come, as though we have never experienced the goodness of God. Ingratitude is an obstacle and an enemy of our expectations. We must never allow a current challenging season to make us complain and murmur as though God has not been good to us.
One of the beautiful things to know about our God is that He is faithful to his Word. He is committed to everything he has said. This means that God is serious about everything good he has said about your life, marriage, children, finances, and everything else. God is forever faithful to make His Word come true in your life. God’s Word reveals his commitment.
He already told us that his Word would not fail (Joshua 21:45); he also said his Word would not return to him without results; and must accomplish the purpose for which it was sent (Isaiah 55:11).
Indeed, things and people change, but God remains faithful through it all. Trust in his faithfulness.
