Today’s Word: Understanding Worship (Part 1)
Today’s Bible Reference: Romans 12:1, TPT – “Beloved friends, what should be our proper response to God’s marvellous mercies? To surrender yourselves to be his sacred, living sacrifices. And live in holiness, experiencing all that delights his heart. For this becomes your genuine expression of worship.”
Worship is an expression of our love for God. Worship is an expression of our honour for who God is and recognising him as God in our lives. Worship is an intentional act.
Worship is not a song, a mood or an atmosphere; it is not limited to singing or the slow pace of a gospel song.
Worship is more than spoken words; it is the posture and intention of our heart, in submission and reverence to God.
True worship is when we live our lives in surrender to God, pouring out our days, minutes and hours as a pleasing sacrifice to our maker. This is a life presented to God to do as he wishes.
Ask yourself: Do I worship God only in song or with my life? May God help us in Jesus’ name.
Today’s Prophetic Declaration:
Lord Jesus, I thank you for the gift of your son Jesus. I offer my life to you every day as a sacrifice of worship.
