Today’s Word: Understanding Worship (Part 3)
Today’s Bible Reference: John 4:23-24, TPT – “From now on, worshipping the Father will not be a matter of the right place but with a right heart. For God is a spirit and he longs to have sincere worshippers who adore him in the realm of the spirit and in the truth.”
Worship is a sincere recognition of who God is and an expression of it to Him. It can be in the form of song, dance, words, acts of service and kindness, and living our everyday lives in honour of the Most High.
But no matter what good we do in the name of worship, it is wrong when not done with the right heart. True worship first comes from the heart as a beautiful expression to God.
A heart not surrendered to God cannot worship God. First, you give him your heart, the deepest seat of your desires, ambition and emotions, then he can receive your worship.
Does God have your heart of sincere worship, or is worship just a religious act to you?
