Topic: WHAT DOES THE HEART SAY?

Text: “But the spirit produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility and self-control…” -Galatians 5:22, GNT.

The God-kind of love is called ‘Agape Love’.

The Bible says in Romans 5:5 that ‘God has poured his love in our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who is God’s gift to us’.

If the spirit of God has poured God’s love into our hearts, why does there seem to be strife, bitterness, unforgiveness and sometimes even hatred among some believers?

Some people claim to be in Christ and yet speak against others who are also in the faith, and others plan against fellow members of the body of Christ.

If the spirit of Christ lives in our hearts, love should naturally flow from us. It does not mean forgiveness and getting along with others will always be easy, but that is what grace is for.

The grace of God empowers us to do what we would not naturally be able to do, and produces the fruit of the spirit in our lives.

Dear friend, the love of God is not just something we feel as an emotion, but it is produced by God’s spirit in our lives.

Is there someone you are struggling to forgive? Ask the Holy Spirit for help to forgive and make peace with them.
