Topic: WHEN GOD IS FIRST (Part 2)

Text: “Everyone who hears these things I say and obeys them is like a wise man. The wise man built his house on the rock.” – Matthew 7:24, ICB.

The wisdom of God flows in a person who esteems the Word of God. Many believers only remember the scriptures when it concerns declaring blessings and God’s promises. Many do not live their lives according to scripture, and this is why we still give the enemy room to advance his evil agenda against us. 

It is not just enough to listen to the Word of God; you need to live by the Word of God. It is enough to feel good when the Word is preached, and you must commit to living by the Word to experience the gory and profit of the Word, as Jesus spoke in Mathew 7:24.

When storms, challenges and all manner of things come to shake you, you will be firm in God’s truth because you are living by God’s Word. Jesus declares in the scripture in Matthew 4:4 (NIV) that man shall not live on bread alone but on every Word that comes from God’s mouth.

So, we are not just to write or recite the Word but to live by it. This is one way we demonstrate where we place God in our lives.

Take some time to meditate on God’s Word in Hebrews 12:1.
