Topic: WHO ARE YOU? (Part 2)

Text: “One day the evil spirit answered them, Jesus I know and Paul I know about, but who are you?” – Acts 19:15, NIV. 

The name of Jesus is the most powerful, higher than any other name in heaven, on earth and under the earth. Philippians 2:9 says, “Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him a name that is above every name.” 

Sceva’s sons knew the power in the name of Jesus and had seen the name work for them. But like a sinner who thinks he can ‘manipulate’ God by prayer and fasting to overcome a challenge, there comes a day when such a person will call the name of Jesus, and there may be little or no answers or change.

In some situations where we use the name of Jesus, our knowledge, intimacy and trust in God give us access to the power in his name.

A powerful tool is useless in the hands of an ignorant person. We must get to know, serve, and walk in his ways to see more of God’s power.   

Today’s task:

Boast about and declare your stand in God. List three things you know about God that you have personally experienced or have a testimony about. 

Wisdom push:

The name of Jesus may have no power in the hands of those who don’t know him.

In the name of Jesus, I declare that I increase in strength, grace and knowledge of Jesus every day.
