Topic: WHO WILL GO FOR US? (Part 2)

Text: “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us? And I said, here am I. Send me!” – Isaiah 6: 8, NIV.

Isaiah saw the God of Israel for the first time, years into his ministry of hearing and delivering messages from God. When he got this incredible encounter, his first response was, “Woe to me…I am a man of unclean lips”.

There are moments of encounter where all we see at first are our inadequacies. God must first prune us before he can send us out.

Everyone sent by God never feels truly capable or worthy, and the more time we spend in his presence, the more we realise we need more of God to be able to carry out his assignment.

It is not enough to say yes to God. God is looking for people to prune, people he has prepared for the assignment.

When next you spend time in God’s presence, and you feel his glory around you, don’t only say ‘Send me’, but say “Here am I” with a heart willing to be groomed and corrected.

Spend time praising God for his faithfulness throughout the year, and list what you are grateful for.

When we say yes to God, he prepares and leads us in his assignment.

In the name of Jesus, my ears are open to God’s instruction, and my heart is willing to obey.
