Topic: WHY CHARACTER IS NECESSARY (Part 9)

Text: “Brothers, now I have some other things to tell you. We taught you how to live in a way that will please God. And you are living that way. Now we ask you and encourage you in the Lord Jesus to live that way more and more.” -1 Thessalonians 4:1, ICB.

The bankruptcy of wisdom makes a person assume or propound that character is not necessary for the making of a great life. Scripture reveals to us that God adds to people based on their faithfulness. 

In Luke 16:10, we are told that he who is faithful in little things will also be given much. No matter where you are now, your character must match where you are going if you want to move up and go far.

As you prioritise developing excellence in character, the picture in your heart will undoubtedly become a reality. People rise or fall on the strength of their character.

There is so little you can do for someone lacking sound character. Also, no matter how much you oppose a person, if they have a sound character and submit themselves to the leadership of the Holy Spirit, you cannot stop or limit them. God builds character in our lives and circumstances, but we must cooperate with him. As we face temptations, trials, and challenges, we must make conscious efforts to respond in a Christlike way. 

More than anything else we desire, we must become intentional about developing Christlike and excellent character with the right value system. Everything else we desire will rest on these.
