Today’s Word: Why We Worship (Part 1)
Today’s Bible Reference: Romans 12:1, TPT – “Beloved friends, what should be our proper response to God’s marvellous mercies? To surrender yourselves to be his sacred, living sacrifices. And live in holiness, experiencing all that delights his heart. For this becomes your genuine expression of worship.”
Worship is an intimate expression of our love for God. When we worship, we delight ourselves in God, taking pleasure in His presence and pouring our love for Him as an offering.
Worship is a sacrifice, a willing but by no means easy offering of our deepest, most actual feelings towards God.
There is no higher offering than ourselves, and this is the worship that God wants from us. Ask yourself and think carefully before you answer: Will you pour out your everyday life as an offering of worship to God, honouring him in everything you do today?
If your answer is yes, congratulations, Jesus will surely be pleased.
